Roatan offers a variety of fun adventures- whether you take in the warm sunshine and relax on site or
go zip-lining the next – we certainly can plan something for you!
Reservations are suggested for many of these organized venues, please let us know and guest services will be pleased to assist you with planning and scheduling.
Arches – sherman Arches infamous iguana farm is a must go to to feed the iguana – also lobster city is located on site- where you can swim with the lobsters.
Aqua Tours, take the glass-bottom boat that departs in West End and seats up to 30 people below the water in air-conditioned comfort. You will sight see and also witness the beautiful reef, sea turtles, eagle rays and more – all in the comfort.
Botanical gardens at Carambola Gardens: Take a leisurely stroll or hike up to the top of Carambola mountain while viewing a variety of tropical foliage and flora. See wildlife in their own habitat going about their day. You will see a diverse array of tropical plants. If you do make it up to the top of Carambola Mountain, your treat will be a spectacular view of the blue Caribbean Sea.
Beaches: Roatan has beach all around it, beaches are scattered along the coastlines of the island. West bay beach was voted one of the top five beaches in the Caribbean with it’s the stunning white sand.
Canopy tours are one of the most popular activities.
Deep sea fishing charters are available half day and full day. Bait, tackle, and rods provided. Fish for wahoo, tuna, mahi mahi, barricuda and more. Palmetto Bay is a protected Marine Park, the bay is a nursery for small sea life- there is no fishing off the dock.
Dolphin experiences are an incredible way to learn more about these amazing creatures. Several options are available, including the dolphin encounter, snorkel, dive, action swim, and trainer for the day.
Diving: Roatan’s most famous dive site, Mary’s Place, is just outside the reef on the south Shore of the island. Mary’s Place encompasses a vast crevice in the reef wall and has breathtaking caverns to explore.
Explore the island in a rental car (we can arrange for a rental car, we will also mark some of our favourite spots on a map for you) or arrange a guided tour.

Golf: head east to check out the Pete Dye course, Black Pearl.
H Horseback riding: see the beach and jungle on horseback at Barrio Dorcas, located just outside of West End.
Infinity bay is located in West Bay – a wonderful place to spend the day and stay for dinner and some music by local guitarist Scott Haynes
Jams and jellies @ Marble Farms offer unique tropical flavours such as hibiscus flower and guava are produced on site.
Kayaking is a great way to explore the waterways inside the reef. Complimentary kayak usage is available for Palmetto Coasts guests.
Lounging in a hammock is one of the best ways to occupy a few hours in Roatan. Choose from a hammock on the beach, or one over the water at the palapa, grab a good book and a cold drink, and relax.
Mangrove tours are offered from Oak Ridge. The mangroves provide refuge for a variety of marine life, and protect the surrounding reef from sediment due to runoff. Tours are offered by boat, through the canals that run amidst the mangroves.
Maya Key, http://www.mayakeyroatan.com/en/index.html a small cay located just off of Coxen Hole, features a scaled-down replica of the Mayan ruins of Copan, as well as a pool, restaurant, beach and wildlife rehabilitation area.
Night dives are offered any night of the week, weather permitting, with a minimum of 2 interested divers. See lobsters, crabs, octopi and other nocturnal sealife.
http://www.ooloonthoo.com offers vegan and vegetarian options and is the only indian restaurant in Roatan. Paul and Soden James, proprietors of Ooloonthoo Restaurant, opened the doors of the first and only Indian restaurant in Honduras on September 2, 2005. Ooloonthoo, the Tamil word for the lentil from which pappadums are made, is located on the main road to Sandy Bay, just outside of West End, Roatan, Honduras.
Oak Ridge is a picturesque town on the east end of the island, with all the houses set over the water on stilts. and is a good inclusion for an island tour.

Palapa is an open air structure with a thatched roof which is located at the end of the dock, as well as smaller palaces that are located along the Palmetto Bay Beach and at Palmetto Beach Bar and Lounge.
Parasailing is offered at West Bay beach.
Pigeon Cay is located off the far east end of Roatan on the south shore. This uninhabited island that has white sand and is surrounded by clear turquoise water. Day trips can be arranged if interested.
Quiet time is what vacation is all about. Curl up in a hammock, float in the pool, or lose yourself in the underwater world snorkeling.

Sundowners Beach bar is a local favorite and the best beach bar located in the heart of half moon bay, West End Village, only a few steps away from water activities such as scuba diving, kayaking, and the glass bottom boat. A must see when visiting.
Sailing trips on board the gorgeous catamaran, Raya Aguila, can be arranged, with options of 1/2 day or full day sail and snorkel trips, or a sunset sail. All options have attentive, friendly staff and excellent food.
Shark dives can be arranged
Submarine trips can be arranged on the deepest recreational sub in the world, with several options offered, including a trip down to 2,000 ft.
Snorkel off of the our dock in the blue sea. We protect our reefs at Palmetto so we also protect the sea grass growing off the bay.
Tita Pink Horse beach bar: another local hangout with sunset BBQ and discounted beers
Underwater museum offers a different snorkel experience, including a sunken Spanish galleon and Mayan artifacts to view.
Valet diving is offered ‘we do the work, you have the fun’. Black Pearl Divers will take care of setting up your gear, disassembling and rinsing it after the dive, so you can relax and enjoy the diving!

Yoga can be arranged, if you’d like a private class, or would like to visit Upachaya or Tranquil Seas for a regularly scheduled group classes. Yoga retreats can also be arranged through the resort.
Ziplining is available at several locations around the island, including Pirates of the Caribbean and south shore canopy both offer a standard zipline and an extreme zipline for thrill seekers.
